Travel information and reservations

Useful information for traveling and hunting in Serbia

Travel Documents

If you are arriving in the Republic of Serbia as a tourist or for dog training purposes, without carrying weapons, you may enter the country with a valid identity card issued by a European Union country or Switzerland.

Hunters or tourists from other continents are encouraged to contact us or check with the Serbian consulate or embassy in their country to verify the required entry documents.

Hunters traveling with weapons must have a valid passport.

Introducing Weapons and Ammunition

Hunters may bring hunting weapons and ammunition into the Republic of Serbia, provided they are accompanied by a hunting invitation letter issued by our agency.

Upon arrival by car, this letter must be shown to the border police during document checks.

You will then be directed to the appropriate office to pay the firearms import fee.

The fee is a fixed amount of €37 per hunter, for a maximum of five rifles of the same type.

When leaving the country, you must present the receipt issued by the police at any authorized border crossing.

Local border crossings with neighboring countries are not authorized to issue documents for the import or export of weapons.

Traveling with a dog

Dogs must have a passport, a valid rabies vaccination, and a valid TITAR test (antibody titer test).

The TITAR test is a blood test for antibodies in your dog’s blood following the rabies vaccination.

Note: When leaving the territory of the Republic of Serbia, neighboring EU member states usually check the validity of the TITAR test.

Traveling by air and carrying hunting weapons

Air travelers are also free to carry their own weapons, but they must check with their airline at least 45-60 days in advance to see if they accept the transport of hunting weapons.

Note: Not all airlines accept the transport of hunting weapons.

Every hunter bringing hunting weapons into the Republic of Serbia has the right to bring a maximum of five (5) rifles, three (3) of which must be of the same type.

The maximum permitted amount of hunting ammunition is 500 rounds per hunter.

Representatives of the “La Starna” Agency are required to announce your arrival at the airport with your weapons and welcome you.

Reservations and Payments

To book your hunting program with us, a minimum of 30 days’ notice is required.

A 30% deposit of the total amount is required upon booking to confirm your reservation.

The balance must be paid on the first day of arrival.

Payments by credit card or bank transfer are accepted.

Transiting Firearms through the Republic of Serbia

When traveling by car through the Republic of Serbia to Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Croatia, or Greece, you must have a hunting invitation issued by the destination country.

Note: It is mandatory to report the transfer of firearms to the police at the border crossing and show the certificate received upon entry to the police upon exit.

Traveling to and through the Republic of North Macedonia with Hunting Weapons

If you hunt with us in the Republic of North Macedonia, we will provide you with an invitation letter allowing you to carry firearms without restrictions and travel to all neighboring countries.

If you are only crossing the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia and continuing your journey, you are required to apply to the Consulate of the Republic of North Macedonia in your country for permission to travel with firearms through the Republic of North Macedonia.

Note: A permit for the transit of firearms through the Republic of North Macedonia is required if you are crossing the territory with a firearm and not for hunting.

Kosovo and Albania

The transfer and transportation of firearms through Kosovo and Albania are not permitted, as there are no legal regulations.

The procedure for transporting dogs is the same as in the Republic of Serbia.

Travel documents: biometric ID card and, if you have a paper ID card, you must also have your passport.
