Vieni come un ospite e ritorni come un amico
For tourist or dog training purposes (without a weapon), EU and Swiss citizens can enter Serbia with just an identity card. Travelers from other continents can contact us or inquire at the Serbian consulate or embassy in their country to confirm necessary travel documents. Hunters bringing weapons must have a passport.
Hunters can bring their hunting weapons into Serbia with an INVITATION TO HUNT letter issued to the hunter or a group of hunters by our Agency. Upon entering Serbia by car, you must present your INVITATION TO HUNT letter to the police officer checking your documents. The officer will direct you to a border office where you will pay a fee for importing weapons. The fee is €37 per hunter and covers up to 5 rifles of the same type. When leaving Serbia (at any border crossing), you MUST hand over the CERTIFICATE you received from the police upon entry. LOCAL border crossings that prohibit cargo and animal transport may not have facilities to issue certificates for weapon import/export.
Any person staying on the territory of Serbia for hunting or dog training purposes can bring a maximum of five (5) dogs. Dogs must have a passport, a valid rabies vaccination, and a current TITER TEST. TITER TEST is an antibody test performed on your pet's blood after rabies vaccination. Note: When exiting Serbia into adjacent EU member countries, the validity of TITER TESTS is usually checked. Traveling by Plane with Hunting Weapons Persons planning to bring their weapons by plane must notify the airline at least 45 to 60 days in advance to confirm if they accept the transportation of hunting weapons. Note: Not all airlines permit the transport of hunting weapons. Each hunter can bring a maximum of five (5) rifles into Serbia, with up to three (3) of the same type. The maximum allowance for hunting ammunition is 500 pieces per hunter. Representatives from "La Starna" Agency are obliged to announce your arrival with weapons at the airport and to meet you there.
When transiting through Serbia by car to countries like Bulgaria, Romania, North Macedonia, Croatia, or Greece, you must have an invitation to hunt letter from the country you are traveling to. Note: You are obligated to report the transfer of weapons to the police at the border crossing and to present the certificate received upon entry to the police when exiting the country.
If you are hunting with our organization in North Macedonia, we will provide you with an invitation to hunt letter that allows you to bring weapons without hindrance and travel through all neighboring countries. If you are only transiting through North Macedonia, you must obtain a transit permit for weapons from the Consulate of North Macedonia in your country. Note: A transit permit for weapons is required for North Macedonia even if you are not hunting there.
Transferring and transporting weapons through Kosovo and Albania is not permitted due to a lack of legal regulations. The procedure for transporting dogs is the same as for the Republic of Serbia. Travel Documents: A biometric ID card is sufficient. If you have a paper ID card, a passport is also required.
Time Zone The time zone in Serbia is Central European Time (CET). Serbian weather conditions are similar to Central European ones. We advise you to contact us before each trip for specific advice and suggestions regarding equipment and clothing.
