Hunting in the South African Republic

In May 2015, I received an invitation from my friends Dušan Janjić and Jess De Klerk to visit their famous game reserves in South Africa.
Some time ago, we discussed a possible collaboration between “La Starna” and “Witkop Safaris,” and we all agreed on one thing: not to make an offer to clients until we had gone to see and hunt in person, me with them in South Africa, and they with us in the Balkans.
Any comment I made regarding the organization of hunting until the South African sunset would not have been enough to express my amazement. A famous writer described hunting in South Africa thus:
“I never knew of a morning in Africa when I woke up that I was not happy.”

Since October 2016, we have been organizing hunting in South Africa in collaboration with our partners:
  • Jess De Klerk, professional hunter and owner of the Witkop reserve
  • Dušan Janjić, professional hunter from Johannesburg.
In addition to organizing hunts throughout South Africa and the 27 game species found at the Witkop Game Reserve, we can organize Big Five hunts in other African countries.
Upon request, we can also arrange a tour guide in Johannesburg, including accommodation and cultural and gastronomic insights.
The Witkop Game Reserve is located a 3-hour drive from Johannesburg.
We offer our clients all-inclusive packages that include:
  • Round-trip airfare from your airport to Johannesburg
  • Airport pick-up and drop-off and transfer to the game reserve
  • Accommodation and hunting at the Witkop Hunting Lodge Reserve
  • Organized hunts lasting 5 to 7 days
  • Cultivation of the agreed-upon species
  • Hunting permits
  • Jeep transportation for the entire duration of the hunt
  • PH – professional hunter – to accompany each hunter
  • Transfer to the airport
Packages do not include:
  • Ammo (from €1 to €5 depending on caliber
  • Drinks
  • Trophies to arrange for preparation
Hunters who decide to hunt with their own weapons are required to inform their airline one month in advance.
After the first day of hunting, we will contact the authorized taxidermist with whom we work to arrange for the preparation of the trophies and subsequent transportation.
Packages are available for a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 6 people.
Our goal is to offer our European clients personal assistance from the moment of arrival until their departure from South Africa.
